Replacing the Citroën C4 WRC for the 2011 World Rally Championship season, the DS3 WRC has made its official competition debuts in the first round of the World Rally Championship in Sweden. Compared with the C4, the engine size has changed from 1,998cc to 1,598 cc. It now has a regulatory 32mm restrictor and has lost 15bhp, dropping to 300bhp instead of 315bhp. The DS3 is also shorter at 3,948 mm compared to 4,274 mm for the C4, and lighter by 30 kg, at 1,200 kg as stipulated by FIA regulations. After its first victory at the second round in Mexico, it went on to take the 2011 World Rally Championship, dominating on ten occasions and giving an eights title to Sebastian Leon and a seventh to Citroën Racing.
