Totally dominating this season, Sébastien Loeb and the Citroën-Sport team seem to be even more invincible than they were in 2004. No other rally driver has ever won so many consecutive rounds since the World Rally Championship first came into being. The Turkey Rally, 7th round out of a total of 16 in the 2005 season, kicked off on muddy roads after a spate of bad weather, but this did not seem to faze Sébastien Loeb, ably supported by Carlos Sainz, who made an exceptional return at the wheel of the second Xsara WRC. With insolent ease, the young Alsatian set the pace from start to finish. Winning 10 out of the 17 special stages, Sébastien Loeb had only to keep his lead in the 3rd and final leg, his only real adversaries being Peter Solberg (Subaru) and the surprising Gianlucci Galli (Mitsubishi).
